The minimum area for an access is 22x30. And this is the wierd part of it. The attic in question is smaller that that size. Now it appears a 30 slide in or drop in is 31 1 2 and requires a 30 opening.

The headroom is not in question. The opening passageway must allow for unobstructed access.
